Summary
Unpack works on your Mac. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it does not send your files or any personal information to us or to anyone else.
Files
Unpack opens only the archives you give it and writes the results next to the archive or to a folder you choose. Your files never leave your Mac.
Update checks
When automatic checks are on in Settings, Unpack checks siliconmac.com for updates about once a day; you can also choose Check Now. Each check downloads a signed update feed. Like any internet request, this reveals your IP address and includes the app’s version to our hosting provider, Cloudflare, as described in the SiliconMac website privacy policy. Updates are installed only when you agree.
Optional tools
If you choose to install unar or other tools with Homebrew, those tools come from their own projects and are governed by their own terms.
Children
Unpack does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
