Contactary Terms and Conditions

Terms for using Contactary, its unlock, backup tools and related support.

Effective date: 4 October 2026.

Contactary is developed and operated by Fadi Halik. These Terms and Conditions describe your use of the Contactary app, its in-app unlock and related product pages and support. By using these services, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you are not legally able to agree, use the app only with the authorization and supervision of a parent or guardian who can do so.

Application license and Apple terms

Contactary is licensed through the App Store under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These terms supplement that agreement with Contactary-specific information; they do not replace it or Apple’s purchase and usage rules. The Standard EULA governs the app license and takes precedence on licensing matters if these terms conflict with it. Mandatory consumer rights always remain applicable.

What Contactary provides

Contactary works with Apple Contacts to provide browsing, search, contact-health analysis, duplicate and missing-information review, phone-number interpretation, region summaries, recent-contact tracking, imports and backup tools. It is a device-based contact-management tool, not a developer-hosted contact-sync service, an identity-verification service or a guaranteed data-recovery service.

A separate Contactary account is not required. Apple permission, an eligible device, a supported operating system and access to the relevant contacts or files are required for the features that use them. Some services, including purchases, cloud file downloads and sharing, need an internet connection or a compatible third-party service. Features and interface details may differ by device and operating system.

Free features and the one-time unlock

Browsing, search, filters and contact analysis are free. The Contactary unlock is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase for action features, including merging, deletion, number corrections, importing, exporting and backup actions. It is not a recurring subscription.

The price and currency shown by the App Store at purchase are the applicable price. Apple handles payment, transaction verification, taxes and receipts under its applicable terms. An eligible purchase can be restored using Restore Purchases with the Apple Account that made it. Cross-device access depends on Apple making the relevant entitlement available to the installed Contactary version. Purchases that are refunded or revoked may no longer unlock paid actions.

The unlock applies to the Contactary features offered under that purchase. It does not promise an unlimited period of operating-system compatibility, a particular future feature, or access to a separate product or separately offered service. Changes remain subject to the rights you acquired and applicable consumer law.

Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases. You can request a refund at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Eligibility depends on Apple’s policies and applicable law; these terms do not remove any right to a refund or other remedy provided by law.

Contact permissions and your responsibilities

You control which contacts and files Contactary can access through Apple’s permissions and the import tools. Use the app only with data you are lawfully allowed to access, modify, back up or share. When contact records describe other people, you are responsible for respecting their privacy and complying with any duties that apply to your use of that information.

Keep your device, Apple Account and backup files secure. Do not use Contactary to collect or distribute personal data unlawfully, impersonate someone, harass others, infringe rights or bypass Apple’s permissions or purchase verification. Restrictions on copying, redistribution and reverse engineering are governed by the Standard EULA and any applicable legal or open-source exceptions.

Analysis and reviewed changes

Health scores, duplicate groups, suspicious-entry flags and phone-format suggestions are computed aids for review. They can be incomplete or incorrect. Similar records may belong to different people; a missing photo or email address does not necessarily make a contact unusable. Number formatting cannot confirm that a number is active, belongs to a particular person or will connect successfully.

Phone regions are inferred from dialing information and the default region you select. They do not identify physical location or nationality. First Detected means when Contactary noticed an entry after tracking began, not the entry’s original creation date.

Review selected records and proposed changes before confirming. Merging can delete redundant contact records; deletion and corrections may be difficult or impossible to reverse. Changes are saved to Apple Contacts and may sync through iCloud or other contact accounts. Make and check a backup before bulk changes. Your device and account providers control syncing and any recovery options they offer.

Backups, encryption and recovery

Local backups are vCard snapshots of the contacts accessible to the app, using the fields supported by Apple’s vCard tools. They are not a promise that every account-specific field, link or external service detail can be reproduced. Local vCard backup files are unencrypted; a protected export creates a separate encrypted .ccbackup file.

Protected exports use a four-digit passcode. That code provides limited resistance to guessing, even though the file is encrypted. Keep files private, share them carefully and communicate the passcode separately. The developer has no recovery key and cannot recover a forgotten passcode, a lost file or contacts that are no longer available.

Verification and recovery tests check whether the app can read the file in the circumstances of the test. They do not guarantee that every contact field, future app version or external system will support recovery. Keep a separate copy of important data and check the contents of a backup before relying on it.

Import adds reviewed records to Apple Contacts; it does not automatically replace the address book or reconcile every existing match. Repeated imports can create duplicates. Sharing an export places a copy under the control of the recipient, storage provider or app you choose. Deleting a backup in Contactary does not delete those copies.

Privacy and support

The Contactary Privacy Policy explains local contact processing, Apple services, shared files and support correspondence. Use of the app is not consent for the developer to upload your address book. Permission and consent choices can be changed as described in that policy.

Product help is provided by email at support@siliconmac.com in English and Arabic. We do not guarantee a specific response time or continuous personal support. Support does not have remote access to your address book or the ability to restore a forgotten backup passcode. Please send only the information needed to explain an issue and redact private details.

Availability, third-party services and updates

Contactary depends on Apple’s operating systems, Contacts frameworks, App Store services and, when you choose them, file, email and sharing providers. Their availability, accounts, limits and terms are outside the developer’s control. We are responsible for Contactary itself to the extent provided by the Standard EULA and applicable law; Apple is not the provider of our product support.

We may fix defects, adjust features or update these terms as the app and services evolve. The current terms will show their effective date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law. Updates and changes do not override mandatory rights or automatically remove rights already acquired through a purchase. Availability in every territory, on every device or for every future operating-system version is not guaranteed.

Ownership and legal protections

The app’s original software, design and content remain the property of Fadi Halik or their respective rights holders. Your contacts and files do not become the developer’s property by using Contactary. Apple and other product names are the trademarks of their respective owners. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses.

Applicable warranty, liability and license-termination provisions for the app are set out in the Standard EULA, subject to applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, limits non-waivable consumer or privacy rights, or prevents you from seeking a remedy available under law. Contactary cannot promise error-free analysis, uninterrupted service or recovery of every deleted or damaged record.

You may stop using Contactary at any time. Remove the app’s data, delete local backups and remove exported copies from the places you control if you no longer need them. Removing the app does not remove Apple Contacts records, external copies or obligations that must survive under applicable law. License termination is governed by the Standard EULA.
